At a recent meeting, Bruce Sterling expressed his optimism at a process developed by two Dartmouth researchers to convert cellulose into ethanol. Once in production, cellulosic ethanol could power flexible fuel vehicles, making the US energy-independent, and creating a net reduction of greenhouse emissions.
