Michael Arnold Mages is an educator, designer and artist. He received a degree in Music Composition from the University of Arizona, a Masters in Digital Media Studies at the University of Denver and currently teaches at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in the Graphic Design & Interactive Media program and is visiting faculty at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Media Arts Program. His works deal primarily with sound, economies of power, and perceptions of space.

His works have been exhibited nationally and collected privately and publicly. His most recent speaking engagement was a keynote proposing new directions for the Digital Media education of the Graphic Designer for the AIGA Design Frontier conference for Design Education.

He is currently working on several projects, among them a digital archive of the photos and writings detailing the experiences of his Grandfather during World War II.
