Catalog Description: Further enhancing the skills acquired in Web Design for rich media. This course will be an advanced process in creating dynamic interactive web sites. Students will architect, design, animate and code an interface witha motion intro for the online medium. Prerequisites: DM 3115 Web Design

Goals:

  • To derive an understanding of human information processing, as relates to interactive systems design.
  • To continue to develop the understanding of how to express function, process, information hierarchy and structure through visual design.
  • To begin to understand haptics, physical interaction, and human factors as pertains to interface design.
  • To gain experience and understanding in the application of interactive interface evaluation instruments.

Objectives:

  • To derive an approach to common problems of creating work for display over the Internet.
  • To design and create interfaces for on-line experiences and software applications that demonstrate an understanding of structure, narrativity, and human-computer interaction.
  • To be able to create a User Interface design based on Pre-design analysis
  • To understand the use and application of Object-oriented programming techniques through the use of ActionScript.
