This course is an introductory study of the fundamental concepts of design. The principles covered include form, structure, color theory, visual aesthetics, semiotics, organizational systems, and the relationship of text and image. Other course objectives are to achieve technical proficiency in layout and image derivation tools and techniques, master the lexicon of terms regarding commonly used media, and learn to express oneself visually through the medium of graphic design.
